Lil Wayne became a star early in his career and has produced project after project, ultimately managing to have one of the best discographies in hip hop history. Now that fans continue to anxiously await Tha Carter V, they now have another reason to celebrate Wayne’s legacy.

Wayne is set to receive the “I Am Hip Hop” Award at the 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards. He will be honored in hip-hop by having a total of five Grammy Awards and countless chart-topping projects.

The award show will air on October 16. He now be among hip hop legends like MC. Lyte, Snoop Dogg, Scarface, and Doug.E Fresh, who have previously received this honor.
