Prince’s film career did not take off after doing the iconic film, “Purple Rain.”

However, all of this could have changed if the ‘Purple One’ had accepted the role of Ruby Rhod in 1997’s “The Fifth Element.” Eventually the part went to Chris Tucker, who talked about Prince’s reasoning for not taking the job while doing his stand-up performance at Treasure Island Casino.

Tucker said Prince pulled him aside during a party and told him why he turned down the part.

“I didn’t like the clothes,” Prince told Tucker.

Chris Tucker is still speculated to be in the new Friday film with Ice Cube, Mike Epps and John Witherspoon, although nothing has been confirmed.
