Kendrick Lamar recently graced the cover of Vanity Fair for an extensive featured story.
During the interview he was asked about rappers that he got inspiration from, his answer included Detroit legend, Eminem.
“Eminem is probably one of the best wordsmiths ever,” says Kendrick, before praising Em’s classic, The Marshall Mathers LP. “There’s a whole list of why, but just bending words,” says Kendrick, “The Marshall Mathers LP changed my life.” The influence of Em’s sophomore album can still be seen today, and it’s always cool to see an artist like Kendrick pay homage to a legend like Eminem.
They’ve only worked together on one song before, this being on Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP 2 song, “Love Game.”
