Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has reached the billion-dollar benchmark this week after making $304.8 million at the domestic box office and $700.7 million in international markets. The movie is now the 35th film to join the billion-dollar club and marks Universal’s seventh billion-dollar grossing film.

In China, the film made around $245.2 million and now ranks as the fifth highest-grossing Western film of all time in the country.

A lot of analysts predict that the Jurassic World sequel will be the last to make such a huge splash for the remainder of the year with the likes of Black Panther, Infinity War, and Incredibles 2 already setting records months before.

The eyes are now on 2019, as the arrival of Avengers 4, Wonder Woman 1984, Toy Story 4, and the remake of The Lion King rank among the big names set to drop.
