Earlier this month, Sony officially released the trailer for Marvel’s highly anticipated film, Venom. Actor Tom Hardy is set to play the main character Eddie Brock, a journalist who turns into Venom.
Hardy’s upcoming role as Venom has been getting a lot of buzz and in a recent interview with Esquire, Hardy revealed that one of the main inspirations for Venom’s character is none other than, Redman.
“Woody Allen’s tortured neurosis and all the humor that can come from that,” Hardy said. “Conor McGregor — the überviolence but not all the talking. And Redman out of control, living rent-free in his head.”
Not only that, El-P of Run The Jewels confirmed that Hardy once told him how Redman impacted the Venom movie.
now that its out there i can say this: when i met tom hardy on the set of Fonzo he told me he partially based venom on redman, thereby guaranteeing that i see venom. true story. https://t.co/DiEq0YZMWo
