The New York Knicks have had a rough last few years and haven’t been able to fix their issues despite bringing in new players. With the likes of Enes Kanter and Kristaps Porzingis I’m the current team, they’ve been unable to capitalize on their hunt for the championship. However, former Lakers star Shaq is looking at the bright side, saying that talented young players should want to play for the Knicks.
In a recent interview with TMZ, Shaq talked on young players passing the NY team. “If I was a youngster, Madison Avenue would be turning into Shaq Avenue.” He said.
Many young players have decided not to play for the New York-based team as they’re one of the lowest ranked in the league. However, Shaq is telling the kids to look for opportunities outside of basketball in New York.
“People always talk about business and business after basketball. Knicks don’t have a star player, so any superstar that comes there, Madison Avenue is going to open up them doors,” Shaq said.
Who knows when the Knicks will become a championship team again, but Shaq has a point.
