Dipset’s Juelz Santana is set to go to prison, but his time has not yet come. The rapper was supposed to begin his 27-month sentence today, but Tyler Perry has something to do with it. The judge has granted Juelz a month delay in order to head to Georgia for Tyler Perry’s Reunion filming, a film which he was a part of.
According to The Blast, a New Jersey federal has allowed Santana to push his sentence back. Juelz’s surrender date has now been delayed until Feb. 28th, 2019, but until then he’ll be heading to Georgia to shoot at Perry’s studio in Atlanta.
Juelz Santana told the judge that this taping was vital for his career, saying Tyler Perry’s Reunion shoot is “connected to his participation in the television show ‘Love & Hip Hop.’ Santana continued by saying that this would provide closure for him as he embarks on his term of imprisonment.
Juelz Santana was indicted of federal firearm charges early last year, but right away posted a $500K bond. The rapper entered a guilty plea in December, which has led to a 27-month sentence in prison.
