Keith Murray recently stopped by the KDAY Morning Show with Romeo to talk about his upcoming album produced by Erick Sermon, modern hip hop and West coast artists that inspired him.
Murray went on to mention how his new album will have “old-school” roots and talked about modern hip hop. “Different styles have come in. Before you had to be original and have your own identity…” he said.
He went on to mention the rappers from the West that motivated and inspired him.
“From the beginning, I was always a young music fan so MC Ren was really big for Keith Murray. Especially N.W.A., Eazy-E, but MC Ren was that dude. I got goosebumps right now when he came out with that album ‘Kizz My Black A**.’ Ice Cube, Snoop, I even like Kendrick Lamar and them now. ” he said.
The veteran rapper goes on to mention his upcoming shows.
