In a recent interview with Billboard, Flying Lotus gave a candid conversation which resulted in talking about Dr. Dre‘s unreleased album, Detox. Lotus went on to mention about how he has already listened to the full version of Detox. The listening session reportedly took place following the release of Dr, Dre’s 2015 release, Compton.

“When I came to the studio, he played me Detox,” Lotus said. “He was like, “You f*** with it or what?!” I was like, “Yeah!” He was just super hyped on it. We were listening to the s*** and he was dancing around the studio with his wife and s***. He has that feeling like, “F*** yeah. I’m rich as f***, but I’m having a great time still.” It was really cool to see.”

The famed artist went on to say that the version he heard sounds like it could be the sequel to Compton. “It makes sense after Compton, I think. It makes sense, but I like it better than Compton,” he said.

The general consensus is still that many are still unsure if we’ll ever hear Dre’s Detox, but for now fans will just have to take Lotus’ word for it.
