The Fyre Festival proved to be the biggest festival that never happened. The disaster not only left many broke, but it forever tarnished the name and legacies of some people. While many try to forget the festival even happened, Ja Rule seems to not be willing to let go of the whole situation.
This past Friday, Rule took to Instagram to share his latest single, “FYRE.” He made sure to give it a new meaning, with the acronym for the word now standing for “For Your Real Entertainment.” The track also features samples to Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick’s classic track, “The Show.”
He goes on to rap about what went wrong with the festival. “For your real entertainment, I’m about to tell you how that s*** went down from the horses mouth/With no D.A. or plaintiffs, but in the people’s court, baby, they’ll hang you like they ancestors,” he said. “Hotter than the sun, but it wasn’t that/Show of hands if you got your money back?/Just playing, I got sued for that/$100 mil to be exact/I know you lack empathy for the one that’s me/But I too was bamboozled and led astray.”
The release of the song comes after he was legally cleared from a lawsuit regarding the festival in November.
