Since the recent March shutdown, Los Angeles, along with the entire world, has been adjusting to life amid the global Coronavirus pandemic. As Stay-At-Home orders were put into regulation by both the L.A. City Mayor and California Governor, as well as mandating masks to be work while in public, our work to flatten the curve has been a consistent fight.
As we entered into the months of summer, we saw that our city go through phases to reopen while COVID-19 cases gradually took a turn for the worst. Today, Governor Gavin Newsom has yet again issued another form of lockdown for the state that has affected nearly 30 total counties, with Los Angeles being included.
Newsom took to social media to share the latest updates during a time that COVID-19 cases are continuing to rise at an “alarming rate”. Although there has not been an official date when the changes will go into place, Newsom has ordered the closure of all indoor operations for restaurants, wineries, movie theaters, gyms, churches, hair salons, and barbershops, with bars closing all operations.
A total of 30 counties will be impacted by the new changes, including Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, San Diego, and others.
Newsroom has also updated his social media accounts with messages and reminders to always wear face masks and a note stating that “#COVID19 is not over just because you may be over it”
