The Three 6 Mafia influence cannot be denied after creating their own sound that has carried not only put the South on the map but definitely changed the game for underground hip-hop groups. Three 6 duo Juicy J and DJ Paul also made history when they earned the coveted Academy Award Oscar statue for their winning song “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp” from the film Hustle & Flow, which stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson.
In a recent post, one half of the remaining duo Juicy J took to Instagram to make a bold statement about his legendary rap group which originally began out as a team of six. The Memphis native posed a question to his fans asking, “”Who the best group ever did it ? THREE6 ……..The hustle continues”.
As this year has brought much debate about who’s really taking the crown, especially with the quarantine popular Verzuz Battles that have brought hip-hop’s biggest names and legends to the conversation, the debates in J’s comments section leaned to agree with the down south icon.
Do you agree that Three 6 holds the title or is there another hip-hop crew who holds it down as the best in the game?
