If you didn’t know already, Detroit G.O.A.T. Eminem has always expressed his respect and admiration for the pioneering LL Cool J.
The now Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer has had a great impact on Em, as the ‘Kamikaze’ rapper was once inspired by not only LL’s brash prowess on tracks like “Mama Said Knock You Out,” but he also looked to LL for his swagger and confidence.
In a new Complex report, a recent clip from the Paramount+ series Behind The Music, Eminem reflects back on the unique gift LL once gifted him. Speaking on the iconic gold chain that Cool James donned in the “I’m Bad” video, Em says, “Since I was a little kid I always wanted a chain.” He continues, “I was recording with Rick Rubin and I was like, ‘Yo, can you ask LL where he got his chains from?’ So he had these made and sent them to me.”
