It’s been 20 years since the untimely passing of the late, incredible talent of Aaliyah. As her influence in culture and music continues to shine and bring new for many, fans of the late singer have without a doubt celebrated her legacy with the long-awaited release of her discography to streaming services.
Aaliyah’s sophomore studio album ‘One In A Million arrived to Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, and more streaming services on August 20th and the 1996 feat sold twenty-six thousand album-equivalent units, propelling the 25-year old project into the BIllboard 200 top 10. According to reports, this was a new milestone as the album reached the top 10 for the first time, following the project’s initial 18th spot landing back in ’96.

The rollout for Aaliyah re-releases has just begun, with her complete catalog, slowly but surely making its way to streaming platforms over the next few weeks. The Romeo Must Die soundtrack is set to hit streaming services on Friday, September 3rd, her acclaimed self-titled album due September 10th, with both posthumous releases I Care 4 U and Ultimate Aaliyah expected October 8th.
Aaliyah’s label Blackground 2.0 shared the exciting news through their social media accounts writing, “For the first time ever, 25 years after its release, Aaliyah’s “One In A Million” made the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 Chart this week! Thank you to all of Aaliyah’s fans, both old and new, for the support.”
