A few months back, during the ground-breaking ceremony for the upcoming Universal Hip Hop Museum, Chuck D caught up with TMZ and spoke on the long-standing riff between his Public Enemy bandmate Flavor Flav. While Chuck did share he was ready to move past any disagreements with Flav, it looks as though the beef hasn’t been completely squashed just yet.
The two icons have been at odds with each other for almost two years now after Flav was apparently fired during a 2020 Bernie Sanders campaign appearance, and now, Flav has more to hash out for his long-time friend. Speaking with the entertainment site TMZ, the “Shut Em Down” rapper stated, “Chuck D is the hold up and not Flavor Flav. That’s my boy. That’s my boy and that’s my family member, but business-wise, we’re not seeing eye to eye.” Flavor detailed that although there is love between the two, they just aren’t seeing eye-to-eye at this time.
“Yo, there’s some things Chuck D has to work out with me. Once he comes to the table and signs this partnership agreement, then we can work. If he doesn’t sign this partnership agreement, we not working.”
Do you think that Public Enemy will be able to finally get it together?
