Non-released music can potentially hit your favorite streaming platforms thanks to a new contract with Sony Music.

According to Variety, Prince’s estate signed a licensing deal with the record label.

No details of the contract are on record as of yet, however, the deal reportedly includes music from the late-singer’s “vault” which could lead to thousands of new tracks. The announcement comes a week after what would have been Prince’s 60th birthday, and almost a year after the court revoked Universal Record’s $31 million contract with the estate.

Universal accused Prince’s estate of misrepresenting the artist’s assets. They have since denied these accusations and eventually the court agreed. Both parties came to a decision thereafter.

Prince is well-known for his distaste for corporate attempting to control his music. He considered record label contracts a form of “slavery” in which he called artists “indentured servants.” He joined Jay-Z’s streaming service, TIDAL, to support artist entrepreneurship saying, “once we have our own resources, we can provide what we need for ourselves.”
