Swizz Beatz stopped by the KDAY Morning Show with Romeo to talk about his new album, “Poison,” his art collection and Lil Wayne.

It’s been nearly 11 years since Swizz dropped an album, and now he’s looking to make it happen on November 2nd. Swizz went on to talk about his collab with Lil Wayne:

“It’s great to have Wayne in that particular spirit on my single, and I just love that people feel the energy from it. And me personally, I just feel like I’m starting.” He said.

Swizz mentioned how his relationship with J. Cole has led him to view Cole as a ‘young mentor’ for him. But what intrigues Swizz the most is his art collection. The way the producer views art and the artists in that spectrum is different compared to his peers.

“If you’re gonna be talking about you being for the culture, you gonna have to own a piece of the culture.” Swizz said.

The veteran producer went on to talk about his history in the game and the new book he’s set to release, “Blend.”
