Anderson .Paak’s highly anticipated album, “Oxnard” is set to drop next Friday, November 16th. The project is executive produced by Dr. Dre, further adding on to the anticipation of the release. The California native has created his own lane in the music industry. Mixing intricate rap flows with a melodic sound, he has solidified himself as one of Aftermath’s standout acts.
In a recent interview with Power 106’s LA Leakers, .Paak delived a new freestyle that has many talking. Anderson’s rap pattern mixed perfectly over the instrumental to Biggie’s hit single “Get Money.” “First I gotta lawyer/ moved my mom to Georgia/ copped my sis a Honda/ talked about spoiled,” he raps.
During the interview .Paak mentioned the process of the making of “Oxnard.” The artist mentions that Dr. Dre prevented him from doing features on other projects so he would be able to focus completely on the new album.
‘Yo man, just focus on this. Lock in. You got a lot of features out there, you’re kinda straight on that.’ I was just like ‘But this is tight. SZA and Solange… everybody’s sending me stuff, I wanna do stuff.’ But you know, I had to really lock in.” .Paak said.
