TIDAL has caused a few legal issues over the past few years for Jay-Z. Hov has already been sued by the lawyers who helped him purchase the streaming service a few years back. Jay allegedly owed nearly $600K to the law firms for helping him buy TIDAL. While Jay claims he was overcharged, it appears the lawsuit is already in the past.
According to The Blast, the mogul won his court battle with the law firms as they filed a “stipulation of discontinuance” of the case. Although there no information as to why the firm is eliminating the case, this leaves them without the option to refile later on in the future. With both parties in agreement to this, the case has officially been closed.
The Swedish firm, Roschier and SEB accused S. Carter Enterprises of not paying them the money they were allegedly owed. The two state that Jay hired their services to “act as financial advisor and handling and settlement agent to Carter Enterprises or its designee for the Tidal deal.”
Hopefully more information on the matter surfaces in the near future.
