For some reason, companies feel like they might be able to put out tone-deaf statements without repercussions. Following Gucci’s blackface scandal, T.I. said that he was boycotting the brand and urged others to do so as well. The rapper also mentioned that he would be boycotting Prada and Moncler for dropping offensive pieces of clothing. Alongside these brands, Burberry has been added to the list by the rapper.

Tip blasted Burberry over a recent piece of clothing that caused controversy. T.I. went on to mention that these occurrences are happening more and more often, stating that, “These aren’t coincidences.”

Burberry has since issued an apology after showing off a hoodie that had a noose around the neck. Burberry Chief Executive Officer, Marco Gobetti, issued a statement following the backlash apologizing for the situation.

“We are deeply sorry for the distress caused by one of the products that featured in our A/W 2019 runway collection,” Gobetti said.

Hopefully these companies stop with these tone-deaf statements soon.
