Lil Wayne’s former lawyer is back in court looking for the $20 million lawsuit filed against him by the rapper to be dismissed. According to The Blast, Wayne’s former lawyer, Ronald Sweeney, is looking to shut down Wayne’s lawsuit, considering he’s saying he did nothing wrong.

Wayne is suing Sweeney because the rapper is accusing him of taking a higher standard commission than most, and even screwed him over on deals. According to Sweeney, Wayne is suing him because the lawyer’s law license was suspended for a brief period of time, which he states was due to “technical reasons.”

Wayne would then go on to accuse the lawyer of committing fraud. Sweeney rebuttled by saying that it wouldn’t have affected Wayne at all if his license was suspended in one state. “Rather, Sweeney successfully represented Carter for more than 13 years,” the legal documents stated.

Wayne also claimed Sweeney didn’t represent him in his battle with Birdman over the ‘Carter V’. The rapper says he had to bring in an outside counsel instead, who took a 23 percent cut of his settlement with Cash Money and 15 percent cut from his deal with Universal Music.
