Miami has undoubtedly produced some of the most impactful and important figures of entertainment during the past couple of years. Two examples include Rick Ross and Dwayne Wade, who have been important in both the rap game and basketball, respectively. The two are friends and in a recent conversation with GQ Sports, they discussed the possibility of owning an NFL franchise together.
“Let’s say the opportunity presented itself,” Ross told Wade, “and we had the opportunity to buy ourselves an NFL team. Is that something we move forward on, or don’t?”
“I move forward on it,” Wade said. “I move forward on it. 100 percent”
“I’m glad,” Ross said, who then shook hands with Wade. “I’m glad. ‘Cause I damn sure didn’t want to have to finance everything without you.”
No NFL team name was mentioned, so it’s still a mystery as to which team they would be looking to purchase. However, regardless of the franchise, the minimum purchase price is close to around $1 billion, which is still a sizable sum for the likes of Wade and Ross. However, with a few partners, this purchase could become a possibility and which better team than their hometown Miami Dolphins. With the team reportedly tanking and players looking to leave, it would be a welcomed move for Ross and Wade to take over.
