It has been four years since the tragic passing of the late hip-hop pioneer Phife Dawg, whose contribution to the culture and history of the art of hip-hop is engraved in us all with not only his work with group A Tribe Called Quest, but with his solo feats as well.
On what would have been Phife’s 50th birthday, November 20, news broke that Phife would continued to be immortalized with a special edition “Phife Forever” tees, along with the hint that a solo album will be available sometime next year. Before his passing on March 22, 2016, Phife had released a total of six projects with his Tribe bandmates as well as one solo studio project, Ventilation: Da LP. As the official news came from the ATCQ’s Twitter account, the group’s announcement comes as good news to look forward to for the 2021 year as the once slated album ‘Forever’ was initially supposed to drop sometime back in 2017.
While there isn’t much information about what fans can expect from the forthcoming album, many have already stocked up on their “Phife Forever” shirts.
Happy 50th Phife Dawg!
To honor and celebrate his life and legacy, the estate on behalf of his family just released limited edition “Phife Forever” tees. You can pre-order until 12/1 🔗 in the bio
