Hip-hop pioneers Tribe Called Quest stepped in the game during the 80’s and trail blazed their own lane, imprinting a special mark in rap history. With the late ATCQ member Phife Dawg passing back in 2016, and the group officially releasing their last group effort the same year Phife passed, fans have eagerly awaited a the second posthumous release from the rapper’s estate.
Phife’s team has confirmed the forthcoming release ‘Forever’ later this year, but this Friday, fans can get a glimpse into what can be expected from project. “Nutshell Pt. 2” will arrive tonight at midnight with guest appearances from Redman and Busta Rhymes. The new single is a continuation of Phife’s final single “Nutshell”, which was released a month after his passing.
Speaking with Rolling Stone, the late rapper’s family stated, ““We are excited about the partnership with AWAL for Malik’s posthumous album release. We give all glory to God for allowing Malik to accomplish everything his heart desired, including his solo music. He worked really hard to complete his album before he transitioned, and he was ready to share an album that was near and dear to his heart with his fans. His fans meant the world to him.”
Although there is no confirmed release date for the ‘Forever’ project, new music from the late icon is more than appreciated.
