There’s no doubt that mentorship and inspiration have driven the hip-hop community and while many OG’s are still thriving in their own careers, newer generations continue to look to those who came before them for guidance.
For rapper DaBaby, it looks as though mogul and vet in the game 50 Cent has committed to bringing up the Cleveland native. While the “ROCKSTAR” rapper has already seen a share of his own controversies, this week he went viral for not giving a couple of teens a few extra bucks while hustling candy, Dababy’s recent social media post caught Fif’s attention, which led him to take Baby under his wing.

Speaking on his gratitude of meeting FIf, DaBaby shared in an Instagram post, “Somebody I been studying for a MINUTE lended me a few hours of his time today.” He continued, “N****s so scared to let me in the room they f*cked around & let me end up in the room w/ @50cent [face palm emoji] BIG MISTAKE! Beyond grateful for the game [stacked books emoji] Couldn’t have come from a better source. [one hundred emoji] Now watch me put this sh*t to use.”
Fif later commented on the picture of himself and Baby and shared that he wanted to teach DaBaby how to be better than him and that the late Pop Smoke, who was also being mentored by Fif, sadly didn’t reach his full potential before his passing.
